With the appointment of Kodiak Judge Joel Bolger to the Alaska Court of Appeals just more than a week ago, the state is looking to replace him on the Superior Court bench here.

The Alaska Judicial Council will be accepting applications until 3 p.m. on October 6th.

A Superior Court judge must be a citizen of the United States, an Alaska resident for five years, have practiced law for five years, and be licensed to practice law in Alaska.

Applications can be obtained from the judicial council’s offices or at the council’s website.
