The Kodiak High School Bears football team is in Anchorage for its second round play off game against the Barrow Whalers Friday afternoon.

The Bears stopped a strong Nikiski team on Saturday while Barrow trounced Houston in a blizzard to advance. Kodiak head coach Todd Cook says the game plan against the Whalers and their high-powered passing game will be trying to make the Barrow quarterback misfire.

If the Bears win, they’ll advance to their third straight championship game next weekend against the winner of the Soldotna-Eielson game on Saturday.

The Bears and Whalers kick off at 4 p.m. Friday (today) at Anchorage Football Stadium. You can hear it broadcast live on KVOK radio.
