Petal Ruch ran a write in campaign, winning a one-year seat on the board. Incumbent Jeff Stephan was re-elected for another three-year term. Peggy Rauwolf, who was appointed to the board in June following the resignation of Peggy Tuttle, also won a three-year seat.
During board comments after being sworn in, Ruch said she’d be looking to other board members for guidance.
(School Transitions 1 :13s “…very much for this opportunity.”)
It was the last meeting for outgoing school board president Betty Odell. She gave a heartfelt goodbye speech in which she thanked many people in the district and community.
(School Transitions 2 :25s “…dedication to the field of education.”)
After Ruch, Rauwolf and Stephan were sworn in the board was reorganized. Long-time board member Norm Wooten was elected president by his fellow board members. Stephan was elected vice president, Melissa Borton clerk, and Rauwolf treasurer.
