Four teams finished the 11th annual Chiniak to Kodiak Relay race on Saturday. The winning team, made up of five high schoolers and two adults, ran the 42-point-7 mile course in 4 hours 57 minutes and 45 seconds.

The team included Christy Roe, Analise Delos Santos, Trevor Dunbar, Jake Salus, Sam Salus, Jordan Foster and Bree Witteveen.

They were 15 minutes ahead of second place, a team comprised of rescue swimmers from Air Station Kodiak. The third place team finished 15 minutes after them, with the fourth place team eight minutes later.

The course, which started at the runway past Roads’ End in Chiniak, was run in a minimum of five legs of about 8 miles. Teams could break each leg up into two parts if they had more runners.
