Visitor Bureau Board Slate Announced

Jay Barrett/KMXT

The slate of candidates for the three open seats on the Kodiak Island Convention and Visitors Bureau board of directors was announced on Friday. There are six candidates, but none of them are incumbents.

That guarantees a change in the board’s officers, as President Jan Pennington is not seeking re-election to the board. Joining her in leaving the CVB board are Jessica DeGuzman and Jim Hamilton.

The six seeking election are Cara Eastman of Mack’s Sport Shop & Alaskan Gifts; Val Flinders of the Rendezvous Bar and Grill; Chaz Glagolich of Chazman Charters; Bob Stanford of Island Air Service; Mary Stephenson of Kodiak Lodging of Reservations; and Janet Wente of Northern Exposure Gallery.

Executive Director Janet Buckingham says ballots will go out in the mail to the CVB membership, and should be returned by mail no later than January 23rd. She says that if your business does not receive a ballot by December 30th, to contact the CVB as soon as possible.
