The Wrangell Assembly voted Monday to move forward with the Four Dam Pool divestiture plan, paving the way for Kodiak Electric Association to purchase the Terror Lake hydro-power facility, which it has sought for nearly three years. KEA could possibly acquire the Terror Lake Facility as soon as January. KMXT’s Erik Wander has more.
KEA and Four Dam Pool board member Stosh Anderson described the divestiture process .and what it means to KEA.

Anderson said the decision means KEA may be able to purchase the Terror Lake facility in as few as six weeks.

Anderson described the long process KEA has gone through in order to purchase the Terror Lake facility, which it has long sought.

Under the divestiture plan, the South East Alaska Power Association, or SEAPA, which includes the communities of Petersburg, Wrangell and Ketchikan, will continue to operate the Tyee Lake project near Wrangell and the Swan Lake project outside of Ketchikan. Copper Valley will own the Solomon Gulch facility and KEA will take control of the Terror Lake facility. I’m Erik Wander.
