Assembly Plans for Coming Year

On Saturday morning, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly met to discuss its strategic plan for the coming fiscal year. The strategies are modified annually and used as a foundation for the design and implementation of the Kodiak Island Borough’s annual budget.

Borough Manager Rick Gifford introduced the strategic plan.

Among the issues discussed at the meeting were planning and zoning goals and objectives. Bud Cassidy is the Borough’s director of community development. He appreciates the feedback he received from members of the Kodiak community regarding zoning.

The Borough Assembly also discussed education goals and objectives, administrative finance goals and objectives, tax assessment and collection goals and objectives, emergency planning, solid waste and disposal goals and objectives, parks and recreation goals and objectives and animal control goals and objectives.
