Kodiak Island athletes brought home a handful gold medals from the state track and field championships over the weekend in Fairbanks.
Raissa Boskofsky of Port Lions is the state 1-2-3-A state champion in the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump. She cleared 5-feet 1-inch.
Kodiak High School’s Jordan Fogle won the 800-meters, and he anchored the winning 4-by-800 meter relay team that included Cole Christiansen, Levi Fried and Clayton Hannah.
The Kodiak boys placed 6th overall, with 36 points. Bartlett High School won the state team title with 101 points, followed by Lathrop with 70 and West Anchorage with 48. Chugiak and Dimond round out the top five.
The Kodiak girls took sixth in the 4-by-800 relay and were 17th in the team rankings with one point. Wasilla won with 94 points, followed by Bartlett, West Valley, Lathrop and Service.
