The key to energy conservation in the home starts with the little things. Did you know that computers, coffee-makers, toasters and other electric devices continue to draw power even when not in use. Standby power accounts for up to five percent of an average home’s total energy use. Turn off power strips, unplug your cell phone charger and check the kid’s rooms for electronic toys and games that may still be plugged in before you leave for work, shopping or especially vacations.
