Talk of the Rock: Sven Haakanson

KMXT sunburst logoOn today’s Talk of the Rock, you’ll hear host Kayla Desroches speak with former executive director of the Alutiiq Museum, Sven Haakanson.

Haakanson is a teacher and scholar, formerly in Kodiak, and now in Washington State. He is Curator of Native American Anthropology at the Burke Museum and an associate professor at the University of Washington. In 2007, he received a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship for his work in the field of anthropology and his study of Alutiiq culture and history, among his other accomplishments.

In this episode of Talk of the Rock, Haakanson will speak about his youth in Kodiak, how he got interested in anthropology, and all the adventures that came afterwards.
