Meeting with Alitak Fishermen Announced by ADF&G

In a note to Alitak District fishermen, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s Westward Region research staff announced a public meeting for Thursday to discuss ongoing salmon research, current issues, and potential research plans in Olga Bay watersheds.

The meeting will take place at Trap Point on Thursday, June 23, at 1 p.m.

To promote attendance by all interested individuals, Fish and Game said it will not hold the meeting if there is a fishery opening in the district on that day. Department staff also said they will confirm that they have departed Kodiak City on the morning of June 23 via the Dog Salmon weir crew’s morning area escapement update on VHF channel 79.

If you have any questions or need more information, contact finfish research supervisor Kevin Schaberg at 486-1873.
