There’s been a change to the program of the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce annual dinner Friday night. Because of what is being called an “out-of-state” obligation, Governor Bill Walker will not be attending.

The Governor will still be coming to Kodiak Friday for a public talk on the state of the state at the Afognak Building on Near Island from noon to 1:30 p.m., that will be followed immediately by a discussion with Kodiak City Councilmembers and borough assembly members. That will be from 1:45 to 2:45 in the multipurpose room of the Kodiak Public Library, and is open to the public.

As for the Chamber’s annual dinner meeting, the governor will send Randy Hoffbeck, the commissioner of the Department of Revenue to speak on his behalf.
