All-Star Boys Head To Anchorage

Mary Donaldson/KMXT

The Kodiak Little League 11 and 12 year old all star team had a pretty successful weekend of play in Kenai. Friday evening brought them an impressive win over Cordova, with a score of eight to nothing. Their last game of the tournament play was yesterday (Sunday) evening against Soldotna. Les James, one of the coaches traveling with the all stars, says their final game was a close one, with a score of three to three in the 6th. But the game ended with a loss for Kodiak, eight to three.

James says even though they lost their last game, the boys are still excited. Since they placed in the top three, they now qualify for the district tournament in Anchorage. James says that it will be double elimination, and their first game will be this evening at 5 p.m. against Abbott-O-Rabbit. The all star boys drove up from Kenai to Anchorage on Monday for the tournament.
