It’s déjà vu all over again for the Kodiak High School Bears softball team. A year ago during their title run, they dropped their first game in the state championship tournament to Ketchikan – just as they did this morning, 7-to-6.
The Bears will now take on the losers of the 1 p.m. Sitka game. Sitka will be playing the winner of the Eielson-Homer game from this morning. At last report, Homer had a slim lead in that game.
This is the same route the Bears took last year when they came back to win the rest of their games -including the championship clincher against Ketchikan 15-to-nothing.
We’ll have an update on the Bears quest for a repeat on our newscast at 5 this evening.
