Just like those in attendance, Senator Lisa Murkowski still had plenty to say following Monday’s live video conference on health care reform. Just a handful of participants got to ask questions of the Republican senator; the rest were encouraged to write down their questions and turn them in to Murkowski’s aide at the end of the hour-long meeting.
Afterwards, Murkowski spoke by phone from Washington D.C about the event, which was her first long-distance town hall meeting. Although an audio problem made hearing difficult on her end, she said she was happy with the outcome of the meeting. She was especially pleased that people felt free to voice very diverse opinions. KMXT’s Diana Gish asked the senator if she learned anything new from the people of Kodiak.
