It wasn’t quite a knighthood but it was a royal recognition that was given to Coast Guard aviator Sean Krueger recently. Krueger earned the prestigious Prince Philip Helicopter Rescue Award presented by the British Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators at their annual Trophies and Awards Banquet in London Oct. 29.
KMXT’s Diana Gish spoke with Coast Guard Spokeswoman Sara Francis about the rescue and the award:
— (Royal Rescue "Interesting story …get more fuel.")
Krueger said it was by far the most challenging rescue he’s carried out.
The Prince Philip Helicopter Rescue Award is presented annually to an individual member of a helicopter crew, a complete crew or the crews of multiple helicopters, for an act of outstanding courage or devotion to duty in the course of land or sea search and rescue operations.
