Needs of Survivors Addressed by New National Guard Program

Jay Barrett/KMXT

When a soldier is killed in combat, the family members they leave behind find themselves having to deal with a multitude of details, often without the help of the larger military family they have come to know. Rick Cavens is the Survivor Outreach Coordinator for Alaska at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, and was in town to talk with Noon Rotary Tuesday and Morning Rotary Wednesday. He also stopped by the KMXT studios to talk with Jay Barrett.
