Kodiak’s legislators attended a work session of the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly on Tuesday.

Senator Gary Stevens and Representative Alan Austerman were there to accept the borough’s capitol improvement "wish list." They then gave assembly members their perspective on the "state of state government."

Stevens told assembly members that while things look better than last year when there was a freeze on capital projects, there’s still plenty of uncertainty.

(Leg Report 1 :53 "The promise was … to do projects.")

A different concern is on the forefront of the minds of both lawmakers and that is the means to pay for state government in the near future. Stevens spelled out those concerns to the assembly members.

(Leg Report 2 :56 "The oil going … drops in value.")

Austerman shared his concerns about the situation that Alaska will face in the near future.

(Leg Report 3 :53 "and that’s a … is a concern.")

The new legislative session begins in Juneau on January 19th.
