Cell phoneservice for AT & T customers in Alaska is down. AT & T corporatespokeswoman Colleen Smith says in an e-mail that a commercial power failurecaused a hardware issue that’s affecting 2G service in parts of Alaska. It’snot clear where the power outage occurred and what type of hardware itaffected. Smith says 3G service is not affected. Technicians are working on theproblem and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
