Explosives Missing from Quarry Found

The Kodiak Police Department reported Friday that the explosives that went missing a week ago on Near Island have been completely recovered.

The Crime Stoppers announcement from the police said middle- and high-school aged kids were seen in the area of the Near Island quarry around the time the explosives went missing on May 27^th.

Police Chief T.C. Kamai said the explosive was found nearby:

He added that even though the explosive did not have a detonator attached to it, that it was still potentially dangerous.
