Parnell Vetoes 10 Percent of Capital Budget

Jay Barrett/KMXT

Governor Sean Parnell has vetoed about 10-percent of the state capital budget. That’s the money for roads, construction and other projects. The governor signed off on $2.8-billion, but vetoed about $300-million worth of projects. The legislature had sent him a capital budget in April that was $3.1-billion in size, which Parnell had called "excessive."

There is no word as of noon whether any projects for Kodiak Island were vetoed. Tune into KMXT this evening for more on this developing story.
