For the second summer in a row, a former Kodiak High School graduate is back from college and working at the arts council office for the summer. This year Kate Helligso’s title is "Visual Arts Coordinator," and her job is to increase visual artists’ interaction with the Kodiak Arts Council.

Helligso is encouraging visual artists to attend the next board meeting of the Kodiak Arts Council, which will be next Wednesday at the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium. She will present some of her ideas for incorporating more visual arts into the council’s mission, and pitch the idea of a wearable art fashion show, which could combine the skills of both visual and performing artists.
