Kodiak Museums Share in Grant Funding

The Alaska State Museum has announced the awarding of 23 grants totaling $105,600 to Alaska museums. Kodiak’s three accredited museums received a combined $15,255 in funding.

The Alutiiq Museum received $7,855 for its library project, the Baranov will make improvements to its collection storage with the $5,400 it received, and the Kodiak Maritime Museum was given $2,000 for pay for photographic portraits to accompany its oral history project, "When Crab was King."

The annual Grant-in-Aid awards are funded by an appropriation from the Alaska Legislature, and were announced today (Thursday).
