“The Madsen Bear,” a sculpture owned by the City of Kodiak, has been moved to the corner of Marine Way and Center Street, at the side of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. It’s now in a perfect position to greet those disembarking from the state ferry Tustumena at Pier 1 just across the street. The bear has been restless the last few years, first moving from its spot in front of Fishermen’s Hall to the spit near the gazebo, and this week to its current location. Jay Barrett photo.
