The board of directors of the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce announced this morning that it’s hired a new executive director – and they didn’t have to look very far. Trevor Brown, who has worked for the last three years as the Economic Development Specialist for the chamber, and as its accountant before that, will take over immediately. He had been the interim director since Debora King left after Crab Fest.
Brown said he was excited by the new opportunity:
— (Trevor 1 16 sec "I’m pretty honored … doing down here.")
He said he’ll work with the chamber board on building upon the foundation left by his predecessor.
— (Trevor 2 13 sec "We’re looking at new ideas … more we can do down here.")
He said anyone who doesn’t already know him can come to the Chamber After Hours event at the new KANA/Koniag Building on Near Island tomorrow night.
He said a search for a new Economic Development Specialist will begin soon.
Brown is formerly from La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he worked as a financial analyst at Pepsi Cola. He has bachelor degrees in finance and economics from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
