The Kodiak High School Bears lit up the scoreboard at Baranof Park Saturday like it was a pinball machine, racking up 48 points as they routed the visiting Barrow Whalers, who managed only six points in return.
By the fourth quarter, the Bears took to punting on third down and putting in JV players in an effort not to run up the score.
The Bears are now 2-and-2 overall, but only 0-and-1 in the Northern Lights Conference. Coming up next for Kodiak will be a visit by the Homer Mariners, which will begin four straight NLC games to end the season.
KVOK announcers Doug Letch and Steve Rounsaville have the wrap up:
— (Bears 1 43 sec "And it really didn’t look … Bears defense played well.")
