If you’re a small business owner or thinking about starting a business, there is a good resource available free of charge.

The Alaska Small Business Development Center is a state-funded program to teach Alaskans how to start businesses and what to do to keep them profitable.

And there’s even someone in Kodiak right now who would love to meet with anyone needing help.

Bryan Zak is the South West Region director for the SBDC. He’s also a business owner in Homer and is in town for workshops and the Alaska Municipal League meetings.

Zak says he’d love to meet with people while in Kodiak to discuss your business idea or problem. He says call and leave a message for him and he’ll get with you before he leaves town on Friday. His phone number is 260-5629.
