Tourism Season Strong, But Not Over Yet

Labor Day is just a week away and while we didn’t have much of a summer season, there were some bright spots.

One of those was the local tourism industry. While much of the country struggles with high unemployment and financial uncertainties, that doesn’t seem to have affected the visitors coming to Kodiak.

Janet Cunningham, with the Kodiak Island Convention and Visitor’s Bureau told KMXT’s Maggie Wall that tourism was strong this summer:
