A 38-year-old Ouzinkie man was stabbed late Friday night in the village. The Alaska State Troopers and the Ouzinkie village public safety officer arrested 23-year-old Cadman Peterson of Anchorage in the assault.

A Coast Guard helicopter from Air Station Kodiak transported the troopers to the village, about 10 miles north of Kodiak city, and then medevac’d the victim back to town. Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said Monday she did not know the extent of the injuries, but that the man was treated at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center and later released.

Petersen was remanded to the Kodiak jail.
