Expected Severe Weather Forces Port Lions Ferry Call Cancellation

The Alaska Marine Highway System has cancelled port calls for the ferry Tustumena in Port Lions for tomorrow due to severe weather predicted for the area.

The Tustumena’s Friday evening departure from Kodiak to Homer remains tentatively scheduled for 5:30 p.m., but it could change depending on the conditions.

The marine weather forecast for Kodiak Island waters calls for northeast winds picking up tonight to 45 knots, with seas to 11 feet, with winds increasing to 55 knots tomorrow and seas building to 30 feet by Friday night.
