There’s another new face at the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce. Lindsey Howell will begin work there this week as the new community relations director.

Howell said her fiancé took a job with the Kodiak Island Borough School District, and she applied for the chamber job while still in Cleveland, where she worked for a non-profit organization.

(Howell 1 39 sec "Well, actually I spent the last … to be here in Kodiak.")

Chamber Executive Director Trevor Brown said there were three applicants for the job, and he found her qualifications a good fit for the position:

(Howell 2 22 sec "I think Lindsey’s background … be starting this Thursday.")

Howell said she’s already met many great people in town and had a full weekend after arriving on Friday:

(Howell 3 30 sec "Oh my goodness, so far … it’s just been wonderful.")

Howell replaces Pam Foreman, who began work yesterday as the new development director here at KMXT.

Howell is the second new hire the chamber’s made this month. Josh Bell, who recently moved from South Carolina, is the new economic development specialist.
