Maggie Wall spent some time last week at a forum on the abuse of prescription drugs in Kodiak, where she learned that it’s illegal to give a friend some of your prescription meds – no matter how innocent the transaction seems.
After the event, she spoke with Alaska State Trooper Jeremy Stone about the rapid rise in the abuse of prescription drugs among teens and adults in town.
Stone said if parents want to keep kids from abusing medications we all need to change the way we use, think and talk about prescription drugs.
And just for the record-Maggie says she’s sure the statutes of limitations has expired on her foray into sharing prescription drugs with a friend, and she promises she’ll never do it again.
