Kodiak High School Teams Favorites in Regional Swim Meet

Kodiak High School hosts the Region III swim meet with swimming and diving competitors from around the state. Diving kicks off today and continues tomorrow. The swimming portion starts Friday. And it all culminates with the finals on Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Kodiak’s coach Jon Lindquist says there will be roughly 200 competitors from a dozen schools.

— (swim 1) :29 "Well it would be … boys and you know, girls."

Both the girls and boys are expected to perform well, especially the girls which Lindquist says has excelled in past meets.

— (swim 2) :22 "Right now both are … and girls’ side."

Even so Lindquist says there are a few other teams that the team’s watching closely as contenders.

— (swim3) :17 "Girls’ side … all kinda strong."

Linquist added that both the girls and boys are favorites to perform well at the regional meet.
