Kodiak’s Trevor Dunbar 25th in NCAA Championships

Kodiak star runner Trevor Dunbar took 25th place Monday in the NCAA Division I Championships hosted at Indiana State University. The former Kodiak High track athlete finished the 10K in 30 minutes, 20.1 seconds. The best time had been 29 minutes, 22.2 seconds.

Dunbar rose to national prominence earlier this year when he claimed a national track title in June. He won the 5,000-meter junior men’s race at the USA Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dunbar, who graduated Kodiak High with the Class of 2009, is now a sophomore at the University of Portland in Oregon. He ran against 245 other competitors. See the full results here.
