Dance the Night Away with Saint Innocent’s Academy

New Year’s Eve is generally thought of as a time to party and imbibe and recall sappy stories from the year coming to an end.

If you’d prefer to spend your last minutes of 2010 doing something lively or would like to go out to a non-alcoholic event tonight, consider attending "The Stomp."

The Stomp is a New Year’s Eve family folk dance event sponsored by St. Innocent’s Academy which starts late-at 10 p.m.-and runs until everyone’s gotten the old year out of their system.

St. Innocent’s Father Paisius says the dance will run until 4 or 6 a.m. Saturday depending on how many people are left standing after being up all night.

It’s a potluck, and in addition to being alcohol free, they are hoping for healthy foods and snacks.

The Stomp is being held this year at St. Mary’s gym.
