Former Rep. LeDoux Seeks Chugiak Electric Board

Former Kodiak State House Representative Gabrielle LeDoux made the Anchorage Daily News’ gossip column "The Alaska Ear" not once, but twice yesterday. The first was a reference to her – and a whole slew of former state legislators – running for the Chugiak Electric Association board of directors. That’s the electric co-op for the greater Anchorage area. LeDoux, who now lives in Muldoon, is on the ballot with other out-of-office legislators such as Harry Crawford and Suzanne Little.

The second reference in The Ear was because LeDoux’s e-mail account was apparently hacked into by con artists who sent a phony plea for money, saying she was stuck in London after her passport and credit cards were stolen. It’s a common scam, and the e-mail went to about 3,000 people. According to The Ear, though, those inclined to wire LeDoux some emergency cash called her first, and found out she was safe and sound.

LeDoux told Sheila Toomey, who writes the weekly gossip column, that the upside was she heard from some people she hadn’t heard from in years.
