Jacob Resneck/KMXT

There’s a pair of public meetings today for upcoming projects in the Kodiak community. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. boosters of building a new library building will be holding a presentation in the public library.

Members of the library board as well as architects working on the proposal will be on hand to answer questions. They will then address the Kodiak City Council during the city’s work session at 7:30 p.m. That meeting is being held in the city’s new police station.

The Kodiak Electric Association is also holding a presentation on its proposed hydroelectric upgrade at Terror Lake. The utility wants to install a third turbine to improve efficiency and expand its wind production in the future. That meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge’s visitor center on Center Avenue. The public is welcome to attend.
