Tsunami Siren in Flats a False Alarm

Bells Flats residents might have been confused last night (Thurs) and wondering if they should head for high ground after the tsunami siren got stuck in the "ON" mode.

KMXT’s Maggie Wall, who lives on Bells Flats Road on the Sargent Creek side of the Flats, said she first noticed the siren at about 6:30, but it wasn’t very loud so she just figured it was some alarm at Brechan’s gravel pit.

Borough Mayor Jerome Selby told Bells Flats residents at the start of last night’s assembly meeting at about 7:30 that the repair people were working to shut to alarms off:
