"Save-a-Life Saturday" will be observed across the country, and the local Red Cross office will provide short, mini-courses in CPR and first aid.

Red Cross manager Sally Magnuson said the classes are part of a nation-wide effort to honor Representative Gabrielle Giffords and the heroes of the day when Giffords was shot.

For more information contact the local Red Cross office at 486-4040. Or just show up at the commons before 1 o’clock.

Magnuson says tomorrow’s training will not be full-blown training sessions. However, a person should know the basics by time class is done:

Again, tomorrow’s Save-a-Life training will be held in the high school commons, beginning at 1:00 and it is free.
