The Kodiak High School baseball team will get its first test of the season next week at a tournament in Southern California. Coach Rick Langfitt says the Bears will be traveling to San Diego for the Mike Morrow High School Baseball Tournament organized by the Lions Club.

He says this year the team is looking strong thanks to a strong roster of seniors this year.

There’s also an influx of new blood with a strong freshman class and Langfitt says he’s eager to bring up new talent.

The first home game will be at the end of the month. The Bears face Houston on Friday April 29th and then Soldotna on the following Saturday for a pair of double headers. But he says this year’s rival challenger is in the Mat-Su Valley.
