The Kodiak City Council tonight (Thursday) takes up an ordinance in preparation for this summer’s candidate filing period.
A public hearing will be held at tonight’s regular council meeting on an ordinance addressing filing petitions for candidate nomination for local elections.
Tonight’s agenda is short, but contains a couple of fun items important to the community. For instance, the Council will consider authorizing the permit needed for the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce to host the Crab Festival, as well as a permit for the Kodiak Lions Club to use local roads for the Soap Box Derby.
The meeting ends with an executive session to discuss the city manager’s annual evaluation.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the borough assembly chambers and will be broadcast live on KMXT.
