Outage Hits Kodiak

A fault in the Kodiak Electric Association’s transmission system knocked most of the community’s power out earlier this morning. But now all power has been restored. Nancy Sweeney, a utility spokeswoman, says the fault occurred during maintenance being conducted in the Swampy Acres neighborhood at about 10:05 this morning. Sweeney says no employees or members of the public were hurt in the incident. Power was restored to the entire system by 11:48 a.m.

Only Port Lions was unaffected, she said.
