Ouzinkie Man Airlifted with Heart Problems

A 68-year-old Ouzinkie man was medevac’d by the Coast Guard on Monday and taken to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for treatment.

The Coast Guard reports the unidentified man was suffering from heart complications and was transported with his wife to Kodiak to receive more advanced medical care.

A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter was dispatched from Air Station Kodiak carrying a hospital corpsman from the Rockmore King Clinic on the base.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Joshua Trice attended the patient on the flight into Kodiak.

The man was transferred to a city of Kodiak ambulance for transport to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.
