The Kodiak Island Borough School Board added a new name to its roster during the regular meeting Monday night in the Borough Assembly Chambers.

Board members welcomed Commander Patrick McElligatt, executive officer of Base Support Unit Kodiak, to serve as the United States Coast Guard representative.

(School Board Newbie 1: :34 sec "Good evening thank you very much.")

Monday’s meeting was the first for McElligatt, but was the last for Director of Operations Scott Williams.

(School Board Newbie 2: :21 sec "This is my … leadership of the community.")

School Board President Norm Wooten offered a warm welcome to McElligatt, and spoke of how much Williams will be missed, especially after all of his hard work on the new high school project.

(School Board Newbie 3: :46 sec "Commander, we appreciate … of your life.")

Williams served as the Coast Guard representative on the school board from 2006 until 2008 when he was hired as the director of operations.
