Candidates for Kodiak Island Borough Assembly came out last night to Kodiak’s Nonprofit Network forum. There are six candidates running for three seats. Judy Fulp and Dave Kaplan are running to keep their current seats. The challengers are Gail Brandt, Tuck Bonney, Mel Stephens and Dennis Symmons.
Some of the most interesting answers came when candidates were asked how they proposed to sustain annual funding for non-profits given constraints on the budget. Judy Fulp was called to answer first:
The next chance for voters to get to know their candidates will be on Tuesday, September 27th when the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce hosts its forum for candidates running for all the local elections.
