Tuesday night the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce hosted a forum for candidates in next week’s elections. Six candidates are running for three seats on the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly. They are incumbents Judy Fulp and Dave Kaplan, and challengers Dennis Symmons, Mel Stephens, Gail Brandt and Tuck Bonney. Here are highlights from the questions asked by moderator Lindsey Knight.

After the forum for the assembly, the uncontested candidates for city mayor and two seats on the city council were asked to give a statement introducing their self to the community. Mayoral candidate Pat Branson and city council candidate Randall Bishop weren’t in attendance and had someone read their statement for them. City council candidate Terry Haines spoke on his own behalf.

Voting for all of the elections takes place on October 4th.
