Jennifer Canfield/KMXTA warning for mariners in the Narrow Cape and Ugak Island waters: The Coast Guard is establishing a "safety zone" for Tuesday’s launch of an Air Force Minotaur IV rocket at the Kodiak Launch Complex.
The safety zone takes effect 7:40 a.m. and will last to 10 a.m. or until cancelled.
The Coast Guard will be patrolling the area to make sure boaters mind the temporary limits. Trespassing the safety zone could land offenders civil and criminal penalties and fines of up to $37,500.
