At last week’s Kodiak Island Borough Assembly meeting two special sessions were held to conduct the job evaluations of both the borough clerk and the borough manager. Both Nova Javier, the clerk, and Rick Gifford, the manager, were retained and both were given raises.
Borough Mayor Jerome Selby praised both for the work they’ve done:
Selby says the clerk and the manager are often the point of contact with members of the public, some who might have beefs with the borough or the assembly, and he says they handle that pressure well:
Javier has been with the borough for almost 11 years, and Gifford just over six.
