Be Aware of Wandering Bear

Fish and Game’s Larry Van Daele is warning people about a bear that’s been hanging around the east end of town.

Van Daele says that Northstar Elementary and St. Mary’s School both have been informed and students have been reminded of standard safety routines. He says bears are getting ready for hibernation around this time of year and aren’t as food oriented as they were a month ago. However, residents in the area should still be extra careful.

Van Daele says the bear hasn’t caused any problems.
