About 20 students from Nome High School are stuck in Kodiak for now. The students are from Nome’s wrestling team and traveled here for last Saturday’s Robin Hervey 34th Annual Wrestling Tournament. Service, South Anchorage and Eagle River teams were able to fly out before high winds and heavy snowfall made travel unsafe.
Kodiak High School Athletic Director Bryan Ferris says the students are scheduled on tonight’s 8:30 flight to Anchorage, but if the weather doesn’t clear up they could be stuck here for the Thanksgiving holiday.
